Hamburgers were not always an American food. They were first called Hamburg steaks and were fitting beef patties. It was first brought to America in the 1870s from Ger umpteen by nigh farmers. The patties werent put onto buns until the 1890s by avenue vendors and were then called Hamburger sandwiches. Now, put beefburgers together with the fact that Americans uniform food thats fast, and you get fast food! Thats exactly what J. Walter Anderson and Edgar Waldo Ingram did. They were two hamburger stand owners, who joined together to create a drive-in called The White fortress. The White Castle had a great success that led to the raise of many hamburger chains.

Even with all the accomplishment, not all the hamburger chains could survive the lack of beef, sugar, and labor of World contend II. In the terrible times of World War II, two brothers, macintosh and Dick McDonald, moved to Los Angeles, California from New Hampshire in expect of work in the movie industry.
