Steel Magnolias a play written by Robert Harling is a heartwarming story of true friendship between six marque women. The women of Steel Magnolias are a sisterhood and Truvys strike Spot is a haven for them. The play is set in Chinquapin Parish, Louisiana in the spring of 1980. Since a southern federal agency of life is depicted, the setting plays a major role in the telling of the story. The play opens in Truvys beauty rat where Truvy is talking with Annelle, her new glamour technician. The beauty shop is a part of the setting in its self, without it there wouldnt be a play.
Since the play is set in the south, dialect is wholeness of the main elements.
