Who produces history? HISTORIANS
* Using two sources, primary and secondary.
* Primary, is any issue that has survived in the past including, diarys, witnesses, newspapers, art, clothing, even trash.
* Secondary sources have been created by others.

Historiography is the history of history, or what historians have written about in the past. (History)
History is not about facts, its about interpretation. loosely facts are agreed upon and then turned into interpretation. So historians blend with facts to make up interpretation.
HISTORIANS DO FIVE THINGS
1. Per iodize/ reference determine the beginning and end
2. Include/exclude- emphasize/minimize (EDIT)
3. fantasm change overtime, obsess with change.
4. Ask question, why, what, who
5. Imagine, what if
* No such thing as objective
* History isnt about finding facts

* Maryland colony
* Relative peace between the local Indians. As more and more colonists came eventually by the 1670s the local Indian populations was resisting colonizing.
* Metacom tries to reach out to the other colonists.
* Puritans fancy it as a conspiracy, so they thought they could easily combat the Indians
* So they attack metacom and his allies
* Natives retaliated, they fought effectively and drove the puritans out of redeem day Connecticut
