In The Veil, Marjane Satrapi shares her experience of how the Islamic Revolution had a huge impact on her life, as well as the lives of young Iranian women in 1980. Through the use of comics, Satrapi tells the written report of how she was forced to wear a veil to school. This was a curb symbol of the force that Islamic beliefs had on the bodies of Muslim girls and women. When her grandmother asks her how she is going to put on that rule, she replies, it will simply be forbidden.
